Tempting Failure: FREE You and Me and All the Space Between – Kelly Miller WORKSHOP
June 3, 2016.10:00 am-3:00 pm
This is a FREE workshop brought to you by Tempting Failure. The workshop is for those aged 15 – 19 with an interest in art or performance. You do not have to be the best artist or performer but just have an interest and desire to join in.
This workshop is about you and your audience. It’s about participation and interactivity. It’s about playfulness in the performance space. Through a series of games and exercises, we’ll look at how we might make performance work that actively involves the audience. How we might create a space for the unknown, for participation, and for meaningful experiences. It will be a high-spirited few hours where we dream, play, and explore the space between you and the audience members.
Kelly Miller is a co-director of AMINAL. This is a collaboration between performance artists Kelly Marie Miller and Jonny Rowden. AMINAL was formed following conversations regarding their shared interest in current social and environmental issues and performance. AMINAL’s work is often intimate and participatory, playfully addressing social issues while maintaining a sense of their urgency. AMINAL are resident artists at Kaleider and associate artists at the Bike Shed Theatre in Exeter. Individually, Kelly’s interests lie in participatory, one-on-one, and audio-based experiences, and Jonny’s creative interests lie in participatory, food-based, and public performance
This workshop is open to all, should you have any disability or ability concerns or requirements please email in advance: firstname.lastname@example.org
